Ethics CEUBAE SIG

IEP Compliance vs. Our Ethics Code

School BCBAs are often asked to act when an IEP, federal law, and the BACB Ethics Code do not line up. This ethics CEU walks through three school situations: Title IX vs IDEA at a manifestation determination, workplace-violence documentation vs FAPE and LRE, and sending a student home without a documented suspension. Participants identify the statutes that drive those decisions, at least three Ethics Code points that can conflict with legal or special education requirements, and professional resources for navigating ethics–law conflicts.
